Governor-Elect Josh Shapiro and Lieutenant Governor-Elect Austin Davis Announce Transition Leadership Board, Personnel Committee

Following the Thanksgiving holiday, the Transition will announce key Policy Advisory Committees to help the incoming Administration prepare to advance the Governor-Elect’s priorities

HARRISBURG, PA – Today, Governor-Elect Josh Shapiro and Lieutenant Governor-Elect Austin Davis announced an initial round of transition leadership as they continue working to build an Administration that represents the entire Commonwealth and brings Pennsylvanians together.

Last week, Governor-Elect Shapiro and Lieutenant Governor-Elect Davis took the first steps in this transition — reiterating their focus on growing Pennsylvania’s economy, ensuring our kids receive a quality education, and making our communities safer. During that announcement, the Transition rolled out a website which serves as the central location for people to apply for roles in the Shapiro-Davis Transition and Administration. Pennsylvanians of all backgrounds and political perspectives are encouraged to apply for roles in the Shapiro-Davis Transition and Administration by visiting www.shapirodavis.org.

Today, the Shapiro-Davis Transition is announcing a Leadership Board and Personnel Committee – key leadership groups who will advise the Governor-Elect during the transition. After Thanksgiving, the Transition will be announcing Advisory Committees of policy and professional experts, community advocates, and business, industry, and labor leaders to help the incoming Administration prepare to advance Governor-Elect Shapiro’s top priorities: growing our economy, making our communities safer, and ensuring all Pennsylvania students receive a high-quality education.

The Transition Leadership Board is a diverse, dynamic, bipartisan group that will be chaired by William Sasso, the Chairman Emeritus of Stradley Ronon who has served in leadership roles under Governor Tom Wolf and Governor Tom Corbett.

The Transition Personnel Committee – which will be chaired by Lieutenant Governor-Elect Davis – will recruit, review, and recommend top talent to the Governor-elect and his senior team. This group is tasked with finding the personnel for a capable, diverse Administration that will be ready on day one to deliver results for Pennsylvanians.

Roy Temple and Rob Ghormoz will serve as Senior Advisors to the Transition. Temple is currently a Partner at GPS Impact, and formerly served as the Executive Director of Governor Tom Wolf’s transition in 2014 and Chief of Staff to Missouri Governor Mel Carnahan. Ghormoz is currently a Vice President at GSL Public Affairs, and he formerly served as a Senior Advisor to Gov. Wolf and was the Co-Executive Director of Gov. Wolf’s inauguration in 2019.
